For the longest time, the Filipino soldier was always our military's best weapon and best-kept secret, but he needs the hardware to back him up in the field, on territorial waters, and in our airspace so that the country is respected not just in this region, but in the world.
From internal security operations to external defense, what any armed forces worth its salt is doing anywhere else in the globe. The Armed Forces modernization program has gone many leaps and bounds but it has also seen many missteps and setbacks as well.
But as soldiers always do, they just keep marching on, loyal to flag and country, constitution and democracy. So that when bells for them are rung and their last taps in sung, generations will see our country free.
